Story Bear started with a simple question: why is it so hard to find really good children's books online?

We'd scroll through endless listings, overwhelmed by choice and unsure which books were actually worth bringing home. We wanted a bookshop that felt more like a trusted friend's recommendation — a place where every title on the shelf had been chosen with care, not just stacked by algorithm.

So we built one. Based in Perth, Western Australia, Story Bear is an online children's bookshop built on the belief that fewer, better books make for richer reading experiences. We read, review, and handpick every title we stock — from sturdy board books for tiny hands to chapter books that keep older kids reading past bedtime.
